2020 Summer Series

In 2020 the California Landscape Stewardship Network put on a series of virtual gatherings centered around connection, exchange, and learning. Events such as these help us connect with colleagues around timely topics, as well as inspire us while we advance the work we need to do together. Cutting Green Tape: Recommendations (October 29, 2020)

Cutting Green Tape is an initiative the California Landscape Stewardship Network has facilitated in partnership with the California Natural Resources Agency to help environmentally beneficial work happen more quickly, simply, and cost-effectively. This roundtable, held virtually on October 29, 2020, highlights recommendations from the initiative's first phase. It was hosted by Sharon Farrell (Executive Vice President, Projects, Stewardship and Science, Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, and CLSN Facilitator) and facilitated by Shawn Johnson (Managing Director, Center for Natural Resources & Environmental Policy, University of Montana).

Stewardship, Stimulus & Social Distancing: Roundtable on Operational Changes Due to COVID-19 (September 16, 2020)

Partners across the state came together to share how they’re adapting to the challenges of stewardship during a pandemic, and took the opportunity to exchange ideas and seek solutions with fellow practitioners in this interactive event.

Collaborative Leadership Virtual Workshop (July 9, 2020)

This event was the first in a series of workshops and trainings focused on building and advancing practitioners’ collaborative leadership skills. It focused on raising awareness around the features of collaborative leadership, including frameworks for working across jurisdictions and sectors, the role of networks, and the importance of interpersonal and technical skills in achieving effective collaboration.

Summer Series Kickoff: Connection through Observation: a Workshop with John Muir Laws (June 29, 2020)

This virtual summer series kickoff event engaged participant's powers of observation and reflection with naturalist and artist John Muir Laws. The event also offered  updates and a reflective introduction to the Network, as well as connections with colleagues and friends new and old.
